Serving our Community

Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care

Over the years we have raised over £100,000 for Rennie Grove Peace Hospice, and regularly host charity events such as Golf Challenges, bake sales and London Bridges Walks.

SportsAid

We also organise several lunch events for SportsAid, a charity dedicated to supporting the next generation of British athletes, helping them to become the Olympians of tomorrow and represent Great Britain on the global stage.

Home Start

We fund a range of other causes including Home Start, which supports parents and their young families to cope during challenging times

We have been long term supporters of The OLLIE Foundation, which empowers individuals and organisations to reduce suicide through education, intervention, and prevention.

Our Sustainability journey towards Net Zero

Supporting charities and our local communities

Corporate social responsibility is an integral part of life at Rayner Essex, shaping how we support our people, engage with our communities, and contribute to wider social and environmental progress.

We actively support a range of local and national charities through fundraising, volunteering, and sponsorship.

Over the years we have raised over £100,000 for Rennie Grove Peace Hospice, and regularly host charity events such as Golf Challenges, bake sales and London Bridges Walks. We also organise several lunch events for SportsAid, a charity dedicated to supporting the next generation of British athletes, helping them to become the Olympians of tomorrow and represent Great Britain on the global stage.

In addition, we fund a range of other causes including Home Start, which supports parents and their young families to cope during challenging times, and The OLLIE Foundation, which empowers individuals and organisations to reduce suicide through education, intervention, and prevention.

Each year, our employees play an active role in nominating local charities that resonate personally with them, such as Grief Encounter, which supports bereaved children and families —reflecting our shared commitment to community engagement.

These are not isolated campaigns, but part of a longstanding and purposeful commitment to giving back, through trusted relationships built on shared values of care, dignity, and community.

Through our involvement with the St Albans Chamber of Commerce, we contribute to a range of community initiatives including International Women’s Day, further reinforcing our deep-rooted commitment to making a positive impact.

Furthermore, Rayner Essex actively sponsors local education awards and promote employment opportunities by regularly attending careers fairs at local schools and universities, raising awareness to potential career paths in professional services.

Our firm greatly values our people, nurturing a supportive and inclusive culture that prioritises well-being and personal growth, ensuring we make a positive impact on everyone we serve.

Sustainability and Impact Report 2025

Rayner Essex is on a journey towards sustainability, dedicated to reducing our carbon footprint and adopting greener practices that support our people, community, and environment – with the goal of achieving net zero emissions.

In partnership with climate action and carbon reporting specialists Ecologi, and with input from our team across the firm, we have now completed our first-year baseline Impact Report — providing a transparent overview of our current carbon footprint.

It is encouraging to note that many positive practices were already in place—such as switching to 100% renewable energy in our St Albans office, moving towards a paperless office, and evolving our hybrid working policy to reduce commuting impact. These measures reflect a longstanding cultural commitment to sustainability.

Our report findings and upcoming carbon reduction targets for the year ahead are detailed within the full report and mark a key milestone in our ambition to reach Net Zero.
