Rayner Essex appoints Devila Rabadia as Partner and Head of Payroll Services

Rayner Essex, a leading UK accounting and advisory firm, has appointed Devila Rabadia as Partner, recognising her contribution to the growth and development of the firm’s Payroll Services team and her longstanding commitment to quality, client service and professional development.

Devila joined Rayner Essex in 2015, bringing extensive experience as a qualified payroll professional. After spending six years working in-house, she moved into the payroll bureau environment in 2004, working with clients ranging from start-ups and SMEs to large companies across a variety of industry sectors.

She qualified and graduated with the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) in 2013. An advocate for lifelong learning and continuing professional development, Devila has also worked as a Payroll Tutor since 2012. Her continued involvement in payroll education and mentoring others keeps her closely connected to the technical detail, evolving legislation and the development of the next generation of payroll professionals.

Her passion for learning also extends to her team at Rayner Essex, where she has introduced ACT, a comprehensive payroll assessment and learning platform designed to enhance the payroll team’s knowledge and skills, while progressing her own professional journey towards Chartered Status.

Known for her attention to detail and ability to make complex payroll matters easier to understand, Devila combines technical expertise and high professional standards with an approachable and adaptable leadership style. She has played an important role in the continued development and growth of the firm’s Payroll Services team.

Under her leadership, the Payroll Services team has continued to develop its client-focused approach and achieved the CIPP Payroll Assurance Scheme accreditation.

As Partner and Head of Payroll, Devila has overall responsibility for developing robust processes, managing risk and compliance, and developing the team. Her focus on high standards, client delivery and continued growth ensures clients receive secure, accurate and timely payroll, pension and payment services.

Devila is equally passionate about creating a positive and supportive working environment where people can develop and perform at their best. She believes a knowledgeable and motivated team drives performance, strengthens client relationships and is fundamental to delivering service excellence.

Commenting on her appointment, Devila said:

“I am thrilled to be joining the partnership, and I am honoured and humbled by the trust and confidence placed in me. With payroll legislation and employer tax constantly evolving, I remain passionate about learning, sharing knowledge and making complex changes easier for our clients and our team to understand.

“I look forward to bringing fresh ideas to the firm, supporting sustainable growth and continuing to develop our team and the services we provide to clients.”

Rayner Essex Partner, Simon Essex, also added:

“At Rayner Essex, we take a holistic approach to our clients’ needs, providing access to a broad range of services across advisory, audit, tax and payroll. Delivering high-quality payroll solutions to clients across the UK is an important part of that offering.

Devila brings extensive payroll expertise, commercial acumen and strong leadership skills to the partnership. Her promotion also reflects our commitment to developing and supporting our senior leaders, while recognising and retaining talented people within the firm.”
