Marion Woods

I joined Rayner Essex over 25 years ago and work in our Internal Finance department at Rayner Essex. My role covers a broad range of responsibilities including bookkeeping, month-end reconciliations, purchase ledger and staff payroll. With no two days the same, I enjoy the variety and pace of the work, and the opportunity to support colleagues across the firm.

Before joining Rayner Essex, I built a wealth of experience across a range of roles in payroll, financial services, and sectors, including positions at The Halifax Building Society, GEC Marconi, and Pizza Hut UK. I later went on to complete my AAT qualification and joined Rayner Essex in a part-time payroll role, progressing through departments including Accounting Solutions and Management Accounts before moving into Internal Finance.

I am proud to have achieved my AAT qualification, which marked the beginning of a rewarding and stable career. Celebrating 25 years with Rayner Essex is a particular highlight, reflecting my hard work, and being content working at the firm.

I really enjoy the collaborative and friendly culture at Rayner Essex, the flexibility that hybrid working offers, and the opportunity to connect with colleagues through regular social events.

Outside of work, I have a passion for travel and have visited over 50 countries, often enjoying cruises as a way to explore new places. I also enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, whether that’s a local lunch, a countryside walk, or planning my next adventure. Growing up, my hobbies included Irish dancing and playing traditional Irish music—interests that reflect her appreciation for my heritage and community spirit.
