My accountancy journey began in 2014 whilst working for an independent accounting firm in the Midlands where I completed my ACA training contract. At the time, I was mostly preparing accounts and bookkeeping, only doing a handful of audits. Once I became ACA qualified in 2018, I moved down to London to pursue a career in audit and joined a chartered accounting firm in the center of London where I was able to strengthen my audit experience.

I joined Rayner Essex LLP in early 2022 as an Audit Senior having built a strong background in audit, where I hit the ground running, leading teams on some of the largest audits in the company.

I really enjoy working in audit as it allows me to understand how businesses operate behind closed doors and what makes them successful. I truly believe the audit process can help SMEs improve their systems, controls, and processes, allowing them to reach their full potential. Coming from a family that had their own business, I love working with many SME’s and of the family-owned businesses at Rayner Essex. Now, as a recently promoted Audit Supervisor, I have the added responsibility of developing the next generation of auditors to continue providing high-quality audit services at Rayner Essex. Additionally, I’ve started to get involved in the local network by attending various St Albans Young Chamber events!

Outside of work, I enjoy going for walks with my wife and our miniature dachshund, travelling, finding the best food spots, watching football and Formula One. I also take part in a weekly Dungeons and Dragons adventure which has been on-going for many years with some old colleagues!
