“Teamwork is a core part of the culture at Rayner Essex, and this collaborative approach ensures clients receive well-rounded, holistic support… This shared knowledge and willingness to support one another enables us to deliver joined-up solutions that add real value for clients”.

I developed an early ambition to become a chartered accountant while studying mathematics at university, where I gained a strong analytical foundation and an interest in problem solving. After graduating, I spent several years travelling and living abroad, gaining valuable life experience before returning to the UK in 2020.

This transition provided the ideal opportunity to pursue a career in accountancy. I self-studied the AAT qualification, which led to my first role in the profession in the summer of 2020. Building on this experience, I went on to study ACCA and joined Rayner Essex in 2023. I qualified as a chartered accountant in early 2025 and have since progressed within the firm, recently being promoted to supervisor.

Throughout my time at Rayner Essex, the support provided by the partners, managers and wider team has played a significant role in my development. Studying for my ACCA alongside day-to-day client work allowed me to apply technical knowledge in real time, which was invaluable in building confidence and capability. The combination of practical, hands-on experience and structured study support, including adequate time to focus on exams while working, made achieving my professional goals both manageable and rewarding.

In my current role, I am involved in a broad range of work, including the preparation and review of year-end accounts, management accounts and VAT returns. I also support and train junior members of the team and work closely with clients, developing strong relationships and providing clear, practical advice tailored to their needs.

Teamwork is a core part of the culture at Rayner Essex, and this collaborative approach ensures clients receive well-rounded, holistic support. There is always access to colleagues across the firm, whether assistance is needed on a tax matter, a VAT issue or a more complex advisory requirement. This shared knowledge and willingness to support one another enables us to deliver joined-up solutions that add real value for clients.

Outside of work, I enjoy maintaining an active lifestyle through yoga and Pilates, as well as long walks. I am an avid reader, enjoy attending live music events, and take every opportunity to travel whenever time allows.
