Helen Thompson
Supervisor
I have been with Rayner Essex since 2018 in the administrative team within the St Albans office.
Due to the nature of our department, we are able assist colleagues and clients wherever they are based; in either office, throughout the country or beyond.
The requirements called upon on our team; means that every day is different and the work we perform evolves to match our colleague’s needs throughout the company and to best serve our clients.
We still perform manual administrative tasks such as printing letters and using the postal service, but during my time here we have moved to online portals, emails and various methods of secure messaging. The fax machine may have gone, but phone calls are still very important, and queries are always welcome. We very much value the importance of personal contact with our clients and are always looking to assist them in every way possible. Our skills have expanded to mastering the various software programmes that are needed to support the modern workplace and ensure that confidential data is kept secure.
My role also involves looking after the St Albans office; ensuring that it is safe and pleasant for colleagues and visitors to work in and allow them to concentrate on their business for the day, whilst enjoying the experience. This includes arranging special biscuits for client meetings, fruit baskets and pizza days for our office staff, staff lunches and assisting with external staff events!
I am proud to say that Rayner Essex does look after its colleagues, clients and community; and am confident that we are not simply a quality accounting firm, but a great group of kind people which you can work with for mutual success.
