IMPORTANT – Act now!
The announcement to extend the CJRS (Furlough Scheme) to 31 March 2021 left little time for employers to act. It’s important to know that the last date for putting retrospective working arrangements in place is 13 November 2020.
To qualify for the extension to the CJRS, employers must have discussed and agreed either full or flexi furlough arrangements and subsequent changes to employment contracts with their employees by 13 November. This includes agreements made that have taken effect from 1 November 2020.
This must be recorded and kept on file for min 5 years. Records of hours an employee has worked and hours furloughed must be kept for min 6 years.
