Further Grants Announced

Further to the announcement by Boris Johnson of the new national lockdown, Rishi Sunak has announced a small amount of further financial support for business.

Property Grants

One off top up property grants for closed retail, hospitality, and leisure business worth £4,000 per property (for properties with rateable value of £15,000 or less), £6,000 (for properties with rateable value between £15,000 and £51,000) and £9,000 (for properties with rateable value of over £51,000).

Discretionary Fund

A £594m discretionary fund made available to support other local businesses.

The above measures are in addition to the £1.1bn discretionary funding for Local Authorities, Local Restriction Support Grants worth up to £3,000 a month for closed businesses (and up to £2,100 for impacted businesses once they reopen) in addition to the extension of the furlough scheme announced before Christmas.
