I’m the head of the internal accounts department for Rayner Essex and as such, I’m the one who prepares the accounts for the accountants.
Much of my work involves ensuring that the regular financial activities of the firm are completed each month and that when done, reports and accounts are produced for the partners within the appropriate deadlines. Unlike some of my previous jobs, the partners at Rayner Essex understand the accounts and reports all too well and thus pick up any mistake, discrepancy or unusual variance very quickly.
I’ve been with the firm for over fifteen years having previously worked in Central London. Although I still go to the London Office a couple of times week, it’s very nice not to have to do it every day and during the peak periods.
I’m married with two daughters although they both recently left home (one got married and the other started working in Yorkshire). As a result myself, my wife and our two cats, are trying to get used to the peace and quiet.
Outside work, my main interest is road cycling being a member of a club based in Flitwick.
